Kairos Italy Theater is internationally recognized as the Italian Theater Company in NY. Kairos Italy Theater’s mission is to spread Italian Culture and to create an Italian Culture Network in order to maintain and spread the knowledge of Italy in the United States. Kairos Italy Theater has produced more than 20 performances and events over the years, collaborating with Off-Off and Off-Broadway theaters and with US as well as Italian Institutions. Kairos Italy Theater brings never before translated Italian plays to the US and it has created the Double Theatre Experience, where One-Act plays are performed first in English and then in Italian in the same evening, by different casts. Kairos Italy Theater also offers workshops on Commedia dell’Arte and other traditional Italian theater techniques as well as Italian&Theatre classes. In 2013, together with KIT Italia, Kairos Italy Theater inaugurated In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, the first Italian Theater festival to take place in all five New York City Boroughs. Kairos Italy Theater è la compagnia di teatro italiano a NY, in residenza presso la Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at NYU, ed è riconosciuta come riferimento del Teatro Italiano a livello internazionale. Sua missione è creare uno scambio culturale su base programmatica tra l’Italia, gli Stati Uniti e la comunità internazionale, con lo scopo di presentare al mondo gli aspetti artistici e creativi di questi due Paesi. In USA, Kairos Italy Theater si dedica in particolare a diffondere la Cultura italiana e a creare un network culturale volto all’approfondimento della conoscenza dell’Italia negli Stati Uniti. Fin dalla fondazione, nel 2000 a New York, Kairos Italy Theater ha prodotto numerosi spettacoli ed eventi, collaborando con istituzioni e teatri Off-Off e Off-Broadway, distinguendosi per mettere in scena prime assolute di autori italiani classici e moderni, accanto a mostre ed eventi correlati alla Cultura Italiana. Nel 2012 Kairos Italy Theater ha creato YoungKIT, la compagnia dei giovani costituita da giovani attori italiani residenti a NY, con lo scopo di formare la nuova generazione sulle tradizioni teatrali italiane, offrendo un palco su cui esercitarsi. Dal 2013 con In Scena!, Kairos Italy Theater insieme a KIT Italia, presenta negli Stati Uniti testi italiani inediti e compagnie italiane, creando un’importante occasione di incontro fra il teatro italiano e la scena americana.
