Donatella Codonesu is a journalist , theater critic and photo-reporter. For more than fifteen years she has been dealing mainly with cultural events. For a decade she has also been working as event organizer for a multinational company. In 2006 she was co-founder of the webzine teatroteatro.it, she was columnist for corriere.it (Italian National newspaper) and curator of “Dietro le quinte”, a radio program about theater, training Roma3 University students. She has a professional expertise in supertitling, gained while working on Italian and English shows and by tutoring and training university students. She is theater productor in Italy and in New York. She is the Artistic Director of KIT Italia and co-founder Associated Director of In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY since its first edition in 2013. In 2018 she is co-founder Artistic Director of OnStage! Festival bringing US theater to Italy. She actively supports the non for profit project “Voices in the desert – recycling memory”. Donatella is proud International Affiliate of the LPTW (League of Professional Theatre Women) since September 2018.

 

 

Giornalista, critica e produttrice teatrale, fotoreporter e organizzatrice di eventi, da oltre venti anni si occupa di cultura, in particolare di spettacolo dal vivo. E’ co-fondatrice e Direttore Artistico di KIT Italia, associazione culturale per la promozione della cultura italiana e dell’incontro fra comunità artistiche internazionali. E’ esperta di sopratitoli per il teatro, realizzandoli a livello professionale e attivando progetti di tutoraggio per studenti universitari. Dal 2013 dirige annualmente con Laura Caparrotti (Kairos italy Theater) In Scena!, Festival di teatro italiano a New York. Dal 2014 è membro della giuria per il primo Mario Fratti Award nell’ambito di In Scena!. Come giornalista collabora a testate nazionali e internazionali, nel 2006 è tra i fondatori della webzine di critica teatrale teatroteatro.it, nel 2015-2016 ha ideato e curato il programma “Dietro le quinte” per la web radio dell’Università di Roma3, formando e coordinando una redazione di studenti. Nel 2018 è co-fondatrice di OnStage! Supporta attivamente il progetto di teatro civile “Voci nel deserto“. Dal 2018 è International Affiliate della League of Professional Theatre Women.

Tomaso Thellung de Courtelary is an actor and theater producer. He is the funder Artistic Director of The International Theatre, in 1992. For 10 years he produced an International multilingual theater season in Rome, hosting theater companies from the main Off Off European, American and Southafrican theater Festivals. Tomaso was the Artistic Director of Teatro Comunale – Formello, Auditorium James Joyce – Ariccia, and Teatro Cassia – Rome. He is the coordinator of several International cultural projects funded by European Cultural Programs. He is also the curator of creative residencies with National and International artists, hosted in a country mansion in the Umbria region. In 2018 he becomes part of Ass. Cult. Music Theatre International as a Segretario Generale. In the same year he is co-founder of OnStage!festival.

 

Attore e produttore teatrale, nel 1992 fonda The International Theatre, di cui è Direttore Artistico, e per un decennio produce una stagione teatrale internazionale plurilingue a Roma, invitando compagnie dai principali festival Off europei, americani e sudafricani. È stato Direttore Artistico del Teatro Comunale di Formello, dell’Auditorium James Joyce di Ariccia e del Teatro Cassia di Roma. Coordina diversi progetti internazionali sostenuti da fondi europei per la cultura. Attualmente  cura residenze artistiche, con artisti nazionali e internazionali, presso una struttura agrituristico/culturale nelle verdi colline dell’Umbria. Nel 2018 entra a far parte della Ass. Cult. Music Theatre International come Segretario Generale. Nello stesso anno è co-fondatore di OnStage!festival.

Laura Caparrotti

Laura Caparrotti is a director, actress, journalist, teacher, lecturer, consultant, dialect-coach curator with an Italian accent. She studied and worked professionally in theater for over ten years in Italy before relocating to NY where she founded KIT-Kairos Italy Theater, now the preeminent Italian Theater Company in NY. She is a member of the Director’s Lab at Lincoln Center, and cone of the founding members of the WorldWideLab. She is also Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and Full Member of the League of Professional Theater Women.

 

Attrice, regista, produttrice, giornalista, insegnante, collabora con importanti produzioni americane e ha alle spalle un lavoro di attrice e assistente alla regia in Italia. Nata, cresciuta e laureatasi a Roma, Laura si forma inizialmente solo come attrice con artisti del calibro di Dario Fo, Annie Girardot, Giancarlo Cobelli, Mario Carotenuto e Lucilla Morlacchi. Nel 1996 Laura si trasferisce a New York dove nel 2000 fonda la Kairos Italy Theater, ora la compagnia teatrale italiana di New York, di cui e’ direttrice artistica. Sempre a New York, collabora con il The Walter Reade Theater al Lincoln Center, la Carnegie Hall, the cell, Bernie Wohl Center, The Flea, il Theater for the New City, Jack, Triskelion Arts Center, Irondale Theater e con la Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimo ‘ dove dal 2012 la Kairos Italy Theater ha la residenza. Laura ha lavorato come consulente e come dialect coach (insegnante di dialetti e di lingua italiana) per la produzione a Broadway di “Questi Fantasmi” di Eduardo De Filippo, per la serie televisiva di HBO “Boardwalk Empire” e per varie produzioni e agenzie di tutto il mondo. Laura e’ parte del Director’s Lab al Lincoln Center, Co chair della International Committee delle Lega delle donne professioniste di teatro, della Societa’ dei registi e coreografi ed e’ fondatrice insieme ad altri 8 registi di 9 nazioni diverse del World Wide Lab, una collettiva di registi internazionali che si riunisce una volta l’anno a fare teatro insieme. Nel 2016 Laura ha ricevuto il Dante Award per il suo impegno nel diffondere la cultura italiana nel mondo.

Carlotta Brentan

A New York-based, Meisner-trained actress, producer and theater artist, Carlotta works across the board in theater, film, tv, commercials and voiceovers. Recent theater highlights include originating roles in the world premieres of Paolo Bignami’s “The Journey I Never Made” (Cherry Lane – Kairos Italy Theater), Erik Ehn’s “Clover” (La MaMa – dir. Glory Kadigan), and Frank J. Avella’s “Lured.” (TNC – dir. Rod Kaats) Carlotta can also be heard in dozens of voiceovers across lots of genres & multiple languages. Proud graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Academy Company, and of professional Meisner training with Andrea Dantas. As Producer, Carlotta has collaborated with In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY since its first edition as the festival’s Executive Producer. She’s been a proud member of KIT-Kairos Italy Theater since 2012, starring in many of their productions as well as serving as the company’s Literary and Producing Director. Carlotta is also a published theatrical translator, whose commissions have included works by some of Italy’s most prominent playwrights. Come attrice è apparsa di recente in prime mondiali di testi di Paolo Bignami (Il viaggio che non ho fatto, produzione Kairos Italy Theater, Cherry Lane), Erik Ehn (Clover, La MaMa Experimental Theater Club, regia di Glory Kadigan) e Cyndy A. Marion (You Are Perfect, WorkShop theater). Carlotta lavora anche in film e televisione, e molto spesso come doppiatrice e ‘voiceover artist’ per pubblicità e audiolibri, sia in inglese che in italiano. E’ parte della KIT – Kairos Italy Theater – la più importante compagnia di teatro italiano a New York, dal 2011. Oltre a recitare in varie produzioni KIT, Carlotta è Executive Producer del festival In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, il primo festival di teatro italiano ad aver luogo in tutti e cinque i distretti di New York dal 2013. Carlotta è anche una traduttrice teatrale con numerosi testi all’attivo, vari dei quali sono stati pubblicati e portati in scena. Con la KIT, è anche traduttrice ufficiale del premio alla drammaturgia “Mario Fratti.” Carlotta si è formata alla prestigiosa American Academy of Dramatic Arts; ha fatto poi parte dell’Academy Company e ha studiato il metodo Meisner per due anni con Andrea Dantas. Valeria Di Giuliano is a cultural operator, a literary scout and a translator. She has been involved in theater for ten years with particular attention to the English-speaking and Portuguese-speaking dramaturgy. Valeria worked as a model between Rome and Milan and studied acting. She graduated at La Sapienza University in Languages ​​and Translation, translating from Brazilian to Italian the musical comedy “Ópera do malandro” by Chico Buarque in collaboration with the author. She studied new media communication and event promotion and she has been writing articles about theater and culture on La Voce di New York. She is currently involved in communication and promotion of events, in particular in the theatrical field, contributing to the diffusion of foreign contemporary dramaturgy in Italy and vice versa and facilitating the liaison among institutions and cultural organizations in the world for the realization of international artistic projects. Valeria collaborates with theater agencies and associations in Italy, with Kairos Italy Theater and KIT Italia for InScena! and OnStage! Festival and with 369gradi and Umanism NY as assistant project manager of Italian & American Playwrights project. She has been a member of the jury for the Mario Fratti Award for In Scena! since 2018.

 

Operatrice culturale, scout letterario e traduttrice, si occupa di teatro da dieci anni con particolare attenzione alla drammaturgia anglofona e lusofona. Nata a Roma, Valeria lavora inizialmente come indossatrice tra Roma e Milano e studia recitazione con Corrado D’Elia e Manrico Gammarota. Si laurea all’Università La Sapienza in Lingue e traduzione realizzando la prima traduzione dal brasiliano all’italiano della commedia musicale “Ópera do malandro” di Chico Buarque in collaborazione con l’autore e Radio Rai1. Successivamente studia comunicazione dei nuovi media e promozione di eventi e inizia a scrivere articoli su teatro e cultura su La Voce di New York. Attualmente si occupa di comunicazione e promozione di eventi, in particolare in ambito teatrale, contribuendo alla diffusione della drammaturgia straniera contemporanea in Italia e italiana all’estero e facilitando liaison tra istituzioni e organizzazioni culturali nel mondo per la realizzazione di progetti artistici a livello internazionale. Collabora in Italia con agenzie e associazioni teatrali, con Kairos Italy Theater e KIT Italia per i Festival InScena! e OnStage! e con 369gradi e Umanism NY come assistant project manager di Italian & American Playwrights project. Dal 2018 è membro della giuria per il Mario Fratti Award nell’ambito di In Scena!

Giulia Casati, born near Lake Como, Italy, in 1994, is an avid reader. She loves languages and art and graduated from a linguistic/touristic high school in Italy. Due to her passion for the English language, she traveled a lot to England during her high school years and after her graduation she decides to move to the United States of America where she got an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts with a focus in Spanish. Here, she got in contact with the cultural environment of New York which increased her interest in translation and languages even more. In 2017, she moved back to Italy to study Intercultural Mediation at Altiero Spinelli in Milan, a school for interpreters and translators. Currently, she collaborates with magazines and newspapers, and with the InScena! Italian Theater Festival NY.

 

Nata vicino al Lago di Como nel 1994, Giulia è una lettrice accanita. Ama le lingue e l’arte, perciò decide di intraprendere una scuola superiore linguistica/turistica. Grazie all’amore per la lingua inglese, viaggia spesso verso l’Inghilterra durante gli anni delle superiori e, dopo la maturità, decide di trasferirsi negli Stati Uniti, dove prende una laurea in Liberal Arts con una specialistica in spagnolo. Qui entra in contatto con l’ambiente culturale di New York che accresce ancor di più la sua passione per le traduzioni e le lingue. Nel 2017 torna in Italia per studiare Mediazione linguistica e interculturale presso la Scuola per interpreti e traduttori Altiero Spinelli a Milano. Al momento, collabora con riviste, giornali e con il festival di teatro italiano a NY InScena!
